CDL Season 14 Playoff Predictions
What a great season of dodgeball!! For the 14th season in a row we’ve had our best season ever!!! (what are the odds??)
On Saturday, 39 teams will battle for 5 different championships. Here’s who we think will win.
L is for Party Tier
Finals: Flying Cat Balls (4) def. Samurai Pizza Cats (1)
The Samurai Pizza Cats are a team stacked full of vets who have won championships ranging all the way up to A tier. They are experienced, well-balanced, and know how to win. That said, Flying Cat Balls have some tremendous catchers who will help sneak this team through and will open our playoffs with an upset. Also, you don’t fuck with Russia.
Pushy the CDL Penguin’s Pick: After last night’s Dodgy Awards, the Port Moody Wailers are riding a massive winning streak. They’re taking that momentum all the way!!!
Darkhorse: Mixed Nuts
D is for Party Tier
Finals: Nintendodgers Cubed (3) def. Fog Duckers (5)
In the largest tier of the day, we will have 12 teams that can all potentially take home the gold. Nintendodgers have been scrapping away for multiple seasons, and have continued their trend of constant improvement. Fog Duckers have a couple superstar level players, but I like the depth of the Dodgers. This one could go either way.
Pushy’s Pick: Run Forest Run. These guys have been hungry for a championship for years. This year they may finally have what it takes to do it.
Darkhorse: Blood Sweat and Beers
C is for Party Tier
Finals: Invisiballs (3) def. Justice League (4)
Invisiballs are a team stacked with at least 3 superstar players including 2 all-star champions. Justice League is probably the smart money pick as they’ve been around the block and have played against the best that the league has to offer. Still, you can’t hit what you can’t see. Sorry Rob.
Pushy’s Pick: Seriously? You aren’t gonna pick Chicken Saowce? These guys get the number one ranking in C tier for the second year in a row and I expect that they’ll take it home.
Darkhorse: The Goodfellas
B Tier (Still likes to Party?)
Finals: Banana and Pyjamas (6) def. Big Ball Theory (1)
Big Ball Theory was probably only a couple games away from being up in A tier. These guys don’t have a single bad player and are also the champions of the Surrey League. Banana and Pyjamas also flirted with A tier for much of the season, and for awhile seemed like they might even be a contender in the top tier. Look for the hungrier Pyjamas to come out on top with their heavy throws and timely catches.
Pushy’s Pick: Mount Olympus can suck it. B-B-B-B-B-B GO BAYSIDE!! (free beer to everyone who gets that reference*)

Darkhorse: No Real Darkhorse here so… Wailer Destroyers!!!
A Tier (also… party)
Finals: Formerly Known As (3) def. PWNIES (2)
Formerly Known As might have the heaviest arms in the entire league. Add the fact that they have rounded out all parts of their game, and developed girls who are among the league’s best and you have a very dangerous contender, who knows what it takes to win a championship. Also, I’m kind of hoping to jinx them.
